Only localized anesthesia is required for the procedure, during which the patient will only feel mild discomfort, followed by muscle soreness that will only last a few days. Traditional liposuction at medical spas in Evansville, Indiana and elsewhere usually require general anesthetic, which has its own set of risks and side effects, and patients must deal with severe bruising and soreness for weeks.
Patients can return home about one to two hours after the procedure, and can return to normal activities after a few days. Light activity is not an issue, as long as the patient wears a compression garment and avoids smoking.
Some results can be seen right away, but there may be some swelling for a week or two. Results can continue to accrue over a few months after the procedure, especially if the patient maintains a healthy diet and exercise habits.
